Every year we experience hundreds of planetary transits, aspects, and movements that affect each of us individually in unique and different ways. Many of these transits, especially those of the outer planets, have a greater impact on the collective than just the individual alone. And some years, like 2025, we have multiple major collective transits occur that can begin to shift society and humanity as a whole. Weโve got even more coming in 2026 and 2027, but it all kicks off in 2025. In addition to being the first full year of our lifetimes that Pluto will be in Aquarius, 2025 also brings a shift in the North Node, the end of an eclipse cycle, and the first movements of three outer planets into new signs. Here is a summary of those major transits and their impacts on us as a collective.
North Node enters Pisces (January 11, 2025)
On January 11th, 2025, the North Node will enter the sign of Pisces. The North Node, also known as the lunar north node or the north node of fate, points us in the direction of our soulโs journey and purpose in our lifetimes. Collectively and personally we are meant to shed the shadows of the South Node and move toward the themes, actions, and outlooks of the North Node. The South Node is always directly opposite the North Node, so when the North Node moves in Pisces, the South Node will move into Virgo.
The North Node moves into a new sign every 1.5 years giving us a collective opportunity to evolve in new ways. It gives us a theme to work on personally and collectively to help us identify which behaviors or ideas are holding us back and which will help us grow stronger and more resilient.
The North Node in Pisces is asking us to connect deeper with our spiritual natures. It is asking us to embrace connection and spiritual oneness with one another, to empathize deeply, and to see ourselves in each other and each other in ourselves. We are being called to release South Node in Virgo shadows of self-judgment, perfectionism, shame, close-mindedness, as well as, impossibly high standards and expectations of ourselves and others. We are being asked to accept all parts of ourselves and others, to see the balance of spirit and body in humanity, and to let go of the need for control. If we are here for one another, practice seeing the best in each other and ourselves, and approach all situations with unconditional love, we will be more than fine.
Eclipse Seasons 2025
Eclipse Dates:
- Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo (March 14, 2025)
- New Moon Partial Solar Eclipse in Aries (March 29, 2025)
- Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse in Pisces (September 7)
- New Moon Partial Solar Eclipse in Virgo (September 21)
Eclipses happen when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are lined up exactly with the Lunar Nodes. They are times of exponential change and growth, pushing all of us toward our individual and collective purposes here on Earth. (Check out our blog post “Everything You Need to Know About Eclipses” to learn more.)
The first two eclipses of the year, in March of 2025, will be closing out this cycle of Aries/Libra axis eclipses until 2032 and will finish out this three year cycle of exploring the self vs. the other. The Virgo-Pisces axis eclipses began in September of 2024 and will continue until February of 2027. ย
Neptune enters Aries (March 31, 2025)
The planet Neptune moves into the sign of Aries on March 31, 2025. Neptune, which rules over the 12th House of a birth chart and the sign of Pisces, is the planet of mystery, spirituality, higher realms, dreams, the subconscious, imagination, creativity, intuition and psychic powers, as well as, the collective consciousness.ย
Neptune is a slow moving planet and takes roughly 160 years to move through all 12 signs of the zodiac. The sign Aries is the first sign in the zodiac, which means that when a planet moves into Aries it is beginning a new cycle or era. Neptune in Aries will be the beginning of a new 160 year cycle where our collective consciousness and sense of spiritual connectedness will shift, change, and progress. During the 14 or so years that Neptune will be in Aries we may see a new collective enthusiasm or interest in religion and spirituality. Spirituality, intuition, and religion may become even more mainstream and present in leadership or influential corporations and entities. We may see a collective embrace of spirituality as a motivational tool and new, highly influential spiritual leaders might emerge. Major collective action might be taken to combat the growing mental health epidemic. We may also experience a collective grappling with shadows of selfishness, individualism, and disconnection from consequences and responsibilities.
Neptune has been in the sign of Pisces since 2011. It will be in Aries from March 31 – October 22, 2025 when it retrogrades back into Pisces for the last time in our lifetimes. It will officially move into Aries again on January 26, 2026 where it will stay until 2039.
Saturn enters Aries (May 24, 2025)
If youโre a Saturn in Aries baby, buckle up because your Saturn Return is arriving on May 24th, 2025! Saturn is the planetary task-master, the rule follower, and the one who ties us to reality. He can feel like a party-pooper at times, but as humans we need some structure and accountability to make real progress and impact in our lives. Saturn energy helps us get things done, practice self-discipline, meet our goals and accomplish our dreams.
Saturn in Aries could feel like a constant tug-of-war between Ariesโs fiery, initiating, jumping in head first energy, and Saturnโs need to have a detailed plan and schedule in place, but often we need a little bit of both of those energies to really get things done. This may be a time where we all must learn a little more about follow-through, responsibility, and accountability, and learn to better manage the areas of our lives where we are the most impulsive, reckless or selfish. Above all else, Saturn in Aries is going to ask all of us to get really serious about what it is that we desire most, how much work we are willing to put in for it, and what we are willing to surrender in order to achieve our wildest dreams.
Saturn retrogrades back into Pisces for the last time on September 1st, 2025. It will move back into Aries on February 13th, 2026, where it will stay for roughly two more years.
Uranus enters Gemini (July 7, 2025)
Uranus will move into Gemini on July 7th until November 7th, 2025, when it will retrograde back into Taurus where it has been since 2019. Uranus will officially move into Gemini again on April 25th, 2026, where it will stay until 2032.
The planet Uranus rules over the 11th House of the birth chart and the sign Aquarius. Uranus is the planet of change, evolution, progress, innovation, individuality, enlightenment, revolution and rebellion. Uranus in Gemini could bring up themes of change, innovation, and breaking tradition and limitations in areas such as learning, education, communication, technology, research, facts, truth, and the collection of knowledge.ย
We could see some changes to social media, such as a new platform emerging or the collective use of one platform shifting to another. There could be a shift in the national education system, greater advocacy and support for teachers, or a new option for more accessible higher education. We could see a shift in news media, perhaps new regulations, new media outlets, or a greater collective push toward nonpartisan, factual, nuanced, and educational news sources. We will likely see even more big leaps in AI technology and how we use it to communicate with one another, as well as other scientific or technological research breakthroughs.
It is important during this time of research, learning, and curiosity that we collectively keep an eye on the big picture and hold ourselves accountable to the greater impacts of scientific progress, remembering that the wellbeing of humanity and our relationships with each other must always come first in the pursuit of knowledge.
We are all going to be asked to tune into and follow our curiosities at this time, and to break through any personal limitations or limiting beliefs that might be holding us back from sharing our stories, messages, and voices. Uranus in Gemini reminds us that each of our unique, individual ideas and voices are important, impactful, and essential.
