Hey there, fellow soul traveler and cosmic baddie ๐โจ,
So, you’re going through some serious changes, huh? Maybe you’re switching careers, ending a chapter in your life, or just feeling like the universe is throwing all the curveballs at you. Welcome to the club, my friend! If you’re anything like most of us, it can feel like your life is a rollercoaster with no seatbelt and an occasional “Hold on for dear life!” moment. But guess what? Change is the universe’s way of giving you a glow-up, even if youโre kinda scared of the process.
And while weโre all here for the big transformations, spiritual awakenings, and glow-ups that come with it, letโs be realโsometimes it feels like you’re standing at the edge of a cliff with no idea if youโre about to take flight or face-plant into the abyss.
But hereโs the thing: change doesnโt have to be terrifying. It can actually be exciting and full of magic. All you need are some solid tools and a little faith in the cosmic process. So, whether youโre embracing a career pivot, a new relationship, or just shifting your mindset, here are 7 tips to trust change and step into the unknown like the spiritual badass you were born to be:
1. Remember: The Universe Has a Plan (Even If You Donโt) ๐
Okay, letโs kick this off with some tough love. If youโre freaking out right now, itโs probably because youโre trying to control the outcome. But guess what? Control is an illusion. And while that might sound like a self-help meme, itโs actuallyย real. Over my many years of going through so many WTF moments, Iโve realized that the Universeโs plan is usually way more genius, divine, and creative than my own. The Universe has your back, even when you feel like youโre walking through a fog. So let go of trying to micromanage every step of the way. Trust that things are unfolding as they should.
Tip: Instead of obsessing over the โhowโ of your transformation, focus on the โwhy.โ Why do you want this change? Whatโs your vision for your future self? Ask the universe to guide you, and then sit back and let things unfold.
2. Start SmallโBaby Steps Are Still Progress ๐ถโโ๏ธโจ
It’s tempting to think that if you’re not making huge, life-altering decisions every single day, you’re failing. But hereโs the truthโchange doesnโt have to happen overnight. Baby steps are still steps forward. Every little choice you make, every tiny shift in mindset, adds up to the bigger picture. In fact, the real sustainable, beautiful, life-changing, expansive change Iโve found is more about taking those small, consistent steps. So, donโt stress about having it all figured out. Just keep moving.
Tip: Celebrate the small wins. Did you send that email youโve been putting off? Win. Did you meditate for 5 minutes instead of your usual 0? Major win. Every shift counts.
3. Trust the Timing of Your Life โณ
This one is tough, but hear me out. We live in a world where everyoneโs highlight reel is online for the world to see, so itโs easy to feel like youโre falling behind. But hereโs the spiritual secret: timing is everything. Your life is unfolding exactly as it should. You donโt need to be on anyone elseโs schedule. There were so many times I stressed about when my career would take off, when Iโd have certain parts of my life โfigured out,โ or if and when Iโd have children. What I learned looking back is that every twist and turn in the road prepared me to expand my container and capacity to receive, to truly be present with these giftsโand to have them on my terms, as opposed to trying to fit my happiness into a cookie-cutter version of it that wasnโt ultimately for me. When youโre meant to get that promotion, meet that soulmate, or figure out your purpose, itโll happen, and youโll be exactly where you need to be to make sure it’s aligned with your highest truth!
Tip: When you feel anxious about timing, take a breath. Trust that the universe has its own clock, and it’s perfectly attuned to your energy. Say to yourself out loud, โI trust the rhythm of my life, and Iโm right on time. I am on (insert name here)โs time, and that is divine.โ
4. Embrace the Messy Middle (Itโs Not a Failure, Itโs the Process) ๐ซ
Hereโs a little secret: the โmiddleโ part of any transformation is always messy. You know that awkward stage when youโre not quite who you used to be, but youโre not yet who youโre becoming? Yeah, itโs uncomfortable, but itโs also where the magic happens. Think of it like the cosmic cocoon before you emerge as a butterfly. If you really think about it, for that caterpillar, this part of the metamorphosis process probably sucks. Itโs dark, itโs lonely, it starts to get super cramped, and that caterpillar might really be doubting if they made the right call. And right at the moment of peak frustration, when it feels like nothing is happening, I imagine thatโs when they burst through that cocoon and discover they can fly, baby. Donโt rush through this messy phaseโitโs where your soul is evolving and where youโre being asked to stretch into a new set of wings.
Tip: When things feel chaotic, remind yourself that growth is often uncomfortable. Allow yourself to be in the process, not just the end result.
5. Get Comfortable with Uncertainty (The Universe Loves to Surprise You) ๐ฒ
Look, no one likes feeling like they donโt have it all together, especially if youโre a Type-A planner who likes color-coded calendars and spreadsheets (no judgmentโme too). But the truth is, the unknown is where all the magic happens. Itโs where the surprises, the gifts, and the synchronicities live. So, instead of feeling afraid of what you donโt know, get curious. Itโs not a scary abyssโitโs an exciting, wide-open field of possibilities. My favorite quote from Gay Hendricks says: โFear is excitement without the breath.โ Hereโs what this intriguing statement means: the very same mechanisms that produce excitement also produce fear, and any fear can be transformed into excitement by breathing fully with it. Excitement and fear are, in fact, closely intertwined in the brain. They share the same physiological reaction: the adrenaline that courses through the body when a person is scared is the same as when they are excited. The difference is how we interpret the experience. Living in the space of embracing the โI donโt knowโ while breathing through it is where you allow space for miracles to occur.
Tip:ย Every time you feel doubt creeping in, remind yourself that the unknown isย your playground. Lean into the adventure instead of resisting it. Let the anxiety of the unknown be transmuted into excitement at the possibility of it all through openness and your breath!
6. Surround Yourself with People Who Get It (And Let Go of Those Who Donโt) ๐
In the transformation club, we all fam. Meaning, going through big life changes is NOT meant to be a solo mission. Yes, you have to do the inner work, but itโs way easier when youโve got a squad who cheers you on through every twist and turn. Seek out people who believe in your potential, people who inspire you to trust yourself more. And, as hard as it might be, let go of the ones who arenโt on the same wavelength. You donโt need negative energy or people who doubt your growth. When it comes to your people, quality > quantity, so keep your circle tight with those who uplift you.
Tip: If someoneโs energy feels draining or limiting, itโs okay to set boundaries. Your growth matters more than maintaining old connections that no longer serve you.
7. Celebrate Your Transformation (Even When Itโs Not Done Yet) ๐โจ
Transformation doesnโt happen in one fell swoop. Itโs a process, and that process deserves to be celebrated! Even if youโre not at the โfinal destinationโ yet (spoiler: there is no final destinationโitโs all a journey), you deserve to acknowledge the shifts, growth, and wins along the way. Itโs soooo easy to focus on all the work ahead or all the ways youโre not where you want to be yet, BUT when you honor where youโve been and how far youโve come, you create even more space for the new to enter your life.
Tip: Throw a mini celebration for your journey! Even if itโs just lighting a candle and journaling about your progress. Recognize your efforts and let the universe know youโre ready for the next chapter.
Wrapping It Up ๐โจ
Change is tough. The unknown is intimidating. But guess what? Youโve got everything you need to navigate this transition with grace, strength, and trust. Life is about evolution, and you are always becoming something newโsomething more aligned with your highest self. So, the next time youโre standing at the edge, about to leap into the unknown, take a deep breath, throw your arms wide open, and trust that the universe is right there with youโguiding, supporting, and cheering you on.
Youโve got this. Letโs do this, you beautiful and blooming baddie ๐ป
